ICRT-Belize provides policy advice, conducts and facilitates research and consultations on developing Responsible Tourism in Belize, the Caribbean and Central America rendering consultancy to hotels, resorts, home stays, houseboats, lodges, car rentals, tour operators, business houses and government departments. ICRT-Belize draws expertise from a trained cadre of professionals in the field while utilizing external linkages from other sources to facilitate a state of the art evaluation to any client for any variety of businesses needing the services of ICRT-Belize.

ICRT-Belize is developing an important tool to help tourists find sustainable destinations in Belize known as the “Belize RT-Index”. This is a database of like-minded responsible tourism businesses in Belize who have undergone some level of independent verification to ascertain that they are indeed adhering to responsible tourism standards and are being monitored on a regular basis to ensure compliance with established benchmarks.
The Belize RT-Index will reassure travelers that they are choosing responsible vacations and are indirectly contributing to environmental conservation and the social well-being of local residents in the places they visit within Belize.
