As the Central American and Caribbean arm of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism in the United Kingdom, ICRT-Belize shares and advocates for a common objective of all ICRTs which is to partner with the private sector, government and local communities to “take responsibility for achieving sustainable tourism, and to create better places for people to live and for people to visit.”

As an integral part of the growing family of ICRT’s in other parts of the world such as The Gambia, India, Canada and South Africa, ICRT Belize is poised and determined to introduce, facilitate, and garner support for its region to nourish and grow the integration of sustainable practices in the tourism industry and overall development of Belize and its neighboring countries.

With the realization of the Third World Conference on Responsible Tourism in Belize, later this year, the region will be at the forefront of promoting the transition towards Responsible Tourism and Sustainable practices around the world.

The ICRT-Belize was established in April 2008 as a not-for-profit organization based in Belmopan City, Belize and having satellite offices in Belize City at the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture.

ICRT-Belize provides policy advice, conducts and facilitates research and consultations on developing Responsible Tourism in Belize, the Caribbean and Central America.

Once again, welcome and we hope you enjoy our website and continue your part in promoting sustainable and responsible development initiatives.
